To pioneer a new standard for sustainable footwear in Africa — starting with Malawi — by creating innovative sneakers that combine recycled materials, local ambition, and global design standards. Tefillah aims to empower a circular future in African fashion with the goal of investigating how to create a closed-loop system for responsible production and disposal.

At Tefillah, we're constantly innovating and improving our products. Our latest development combines sustainability with cutting-edge design to create shoes that not only look great but also minimize environmental impact.
Our design team spent over eight months developing this new technology. Working closely with materials scientists and sustainability experts, we've managed to increase the recycled content in our uppers by an additional 15% without compromising on durability or aesthetics.
The process began with extensive research into available recycled materials, followed by numerous prototypes and rigorous testing to ensure that our high standards for quality and comfort were maintained. The result is a shoe that not only meets but exceeds our previous models in terms of performance and sustainability.
This initiative isn't just about creating better shoes—it's about supporting the communities where our materials are sourced. By partnering with local recycling cooperatives, we're helping to create sustainable livelihoods while diverting plastic waste from landfills and oceans.
Each pair of shoes now helps to recycle approximately 12 plastic bottles, and our manufacturing process uses 30% less water than conventional footwear production.
